How We Test AI Girlfriend Apps (Methodology and Affiliate Disclosure)

Who we are

Best AI Girlfriend For You is an independent editorial site for adults. We compare AI girlfriend and NSFW AI chat apps so you can choose one, and pay for it, with your eyes open. We are not owned by any app we review.

The test, step by step

1. We subscribe. Paid account, on the plan most people choose, with our own card. We record the price charged, the plan renewal date and the name on the bank statement.
2. We build the same character. Same brief in every app (personality, relationship type, interests), or the closest ready-made character when there is no builder.
3. We follow a 30-day script. Daily conversations of 15 to 30 minutes covering small talk, a bad day, planning a date, a disagreement and, where the app allows it, adult roleplay.
4. We test memory. Five facts given on day 1 (a name, a job, a pet, a weekend plan, a favorite food), checked on day 7 and day 30.
5. We test media. Images, voice messages, calls and video where available, and we count how far the included credits go.
6. We read the policies. Privacy policy and terms: operator, data sharing, training use, deletion, retention, age checks, AI disclosure and crisis protocol.
7. We cancel. We time the cancellation, check for dark patterns, then watch the next statement for unexpected charges.

How we score

Scores are out of 10, rounded to one decimal. While a hands-on test is in progress, the page says so and the score is provisional, based on published plans, policies and user reports.

Who we exclude

We do not rank apps that:

• have no published privacy policy or no age check;
• generate or promote images of real people without consent, or are linked to non-consensual deepfakes;
• hide who operates them and how to contact them.

Images on this site

We never publish explicit images, including in app screenshots. App “logos” on our pages are our own initials tiles, not the apps’ artwork.

How we make money

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you subscribe through them, the app may pay us a commission (a share of your subscription or a one-time fee). It costs you nothing extra.
